Over the last couple of weeks I saw The Discovery (2017), Win It All (2017), Dunkirk (2017), Valerian (2017), Shoot 'Em Up (2007), Ghost in the Shell (2017), An Inconvenient Sequel (2017), Atomic Blonde (2017) and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017).
It's an interesting concept with a very flawed logic driving the plot. This is well made with a good cast and is a nice movie for a Netflix release.
This is in the very top of my favorite movies of the year in a very crowded field of great movies so far. One of my favorite things about this movie is just watching the areal shots of planes over the water.
Noms: Christopher Nolan for writing and directing, Hoyte van Hoytema for cinematography, The score for the movie by Hans Zimmer, Special effects for the film.
The first ten minutes of this movie are fantastic and everything after that is a stinker. Wooden acting, annoying CGI characters, a perplexing love story and a rehash of Avatar, this movie has everything!
This is certainly informative about climate change, political efforts to make things better and challenges to positive efforts. I like Al Gore but this focuses too much on his worldwide tour of education rather than showing direct impacts of climate change. It felt more like an infomercial than a documentary by the end of the movie.
