Guidebook

This afternoon I watched one of my favorite movies The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005). I understand fans of the books had some problems with the movie because it wasn't exact to the books, although other properties like radioplays and video games produced by the author Douglas Adams all were different variations, as well.

I really like Mos Def and Sam Rockwell in this movie, they work great with the smart humor of the dialogue and Warwick Davis is amazing as the physicality of the sad robot. It's a shame this movie didn't catch on to make enough to warrant a sequel and it's a shame it wasn't embraced by fans. There aren't many sci-fi movies that lean on fun and strange as much as this movie, although it is encouraging that Guardians of the Galaxy has a little of the same stylization in setting as some of Hitchhiker's.
